Are your plated hardware parts looking blemished
and tired? Let Victrola Repair Service get those parts looking presentable again. We do all our own in-house plating, and since we know what phonograph plating should look like, you can be assured of an authentic plating style. We'll re-plate your hardware to an old-fashioned, mellow nickel finish. You won't get a bright commercial finish that you would most likely get from a general line plater. Instead, you can look forward to a rich, luster of nickel finish much like the original. We give each piece individual attention as needed. Some parts require extensive preparation to have them nickeled. It all depends on the nature of the current plating as well as the underlying metal that has been nickel plated. We prep all the surfaces by cleaning and buffing, then we apply all the needed coats. The first is a layer of nickel strike or copper plating. We then finish it by adding the final coat high quality nickel to finish the plating process. After applying the final nickel, we buff the part(s) to the desired brightness and then polish them. Prices vary greatly on nickel plating jobs. It all depends on the current condition of your plating, the type of metal that the plating is going onto, and also number of pieces being plated. We offer free quotes on your plating work so no job will be done without your prior approval. The first step in having your parts plated is sending them to us. Pack each item carefully and send them for our free estimate. Often times, plating would be recommended during complete restoration work, keeping everything in balance. Plating time varies but the general time frame is allowing 2 to 3 weeks after the estimate for plating to be completed. We're looking forward to giving your machine the luster it once had and to again make your phonograph presentable in your eyes as well as the eyes of others Return to Special Services Page
