Columbia made phonographs for other companies including Harmony, Standard Talking Machine and Busy Bee. One of the other companies was the United Talking Machine Company, which offered this Symphony model. This cabinet has a well built nice oak case, Columbia's one spring motor and a rebuilt reproducer. This machine is special in the respect that it plays the United Talking Machine records only, with the larger center lug. These can be picked up on Ebay and other record sellers/dealers. This machine would definitely make a distinct addition to any phonograph collection, as well as an unusual and interesting unit to own.
This player comes with one United record to get you started.
